Guido Cozzi born in Florence in 1962, Guido Cozzi started taking photographs as a child, and has worked as a professional photographer since 1987. He is also one of the co-founders of the Atlantide Phototravel agency, which specializes in travel and geographic reportage. "I am privileged to be able to observe the world as a photographer," he says. "In the past 15 years I have shot hundreds of photos by travelling to assignments in over 80 different countries. Many of these were commissioned by the most important travel magazines. Today I prefer to alternate between personal projects, fine art research and free lance productions in conjunction with a small group of journalists who share my interest in the extraordinary adventure of daily life."
My favorite photography assignments involve getting as close as possible to situations—preferably inside the action—to become part of it without interference. This is how I am able to shoot images that capture the essence of a scene in which the viewer also feels a participant.

Photography envisioned as a magnifying lens of poignant simplicity: a revealing detail, a sliver of light, or a surreal situation. This portfolio celebrates the joy of living expressed by daily life.

I have always been fascinated by the panoramic format, as seen from early shots taken with Widelux up to recent large digital compositions. To take wide screen images for me is child's play: the panoramic format naturally spreads out, unfolding below the gaze of the spectator, inviting the viewer in as a participant. To visualize and shoot a quality panorama means endowing classic landscape photography with an extra touch of complexity and depth.
